Sport: Top 4 NBA scorers over the past 4 weeks (December)

1. Kobe Bryant -
averaging 33.8 points per game in December.

The numbers this guy is putting up in the box score night after night are truly amazing. It's remarkable how Kobe has the ability to play well so consistently in an effort to help his flailing Lakers. This year Kobe has taken on the role of the 'elder statesman' with ease. By no means am I saying that doing what he does for a career is easy, but he sure does make it look that way. I wouldn't put my money on Kobe for the MVP title - as it takes more than just scoring to be a deserving recipient as LeBron James has proven - however, he is definitely lighting up the NBA and 'schooling' the league's younger players.

2. Carmelo Anthony - averaging 32.6 points per game in December.
At the moment Carmelo Anthony is my favourite player in the NBA. He is definitely a game-changer and can ignite the Knicks' offense in short periods of time. Anthony is one of the most consistent and clutch scorers in the game. He has the confidence to shoot and more often than not, make clutch threes over bigger defenders, exemplified by his performance in 2012 against the Bulls at MSG in which he practically won the game for the Knicks. I love everything about Carmelo at the moment and he lets his game do the talking, remaining humble off the court.

3. Kevin Durant - averaging 31 points per game in December.
Kevin Durant has been playing like a true MVP contender this whole season, but especially in the last 4 weeks. He is a physical specimen to behold and a defensive matchup's nightmare. His height matched with his quickness makes him almost impossible to defend. Don't believe me?...Just look at the numbers he's been putting up.

4. James Harden - averaging 27.7 points per game in December.
Jame's Harden's move to Houston from OKC was the best thing that ever happened for his career and for the Rockets. He has thrived as the centrepiece of the Rocket's offense. He's putting up career high numbers and is definitely having his best season as far as scoring is concerned. A star of the NBA who's ceiling just keeps getting higher every game.
